Year in Review

The end of the year isn't just about holiday treats and relaxation. It's the perfect time to look back on the past 12 months and consciously plan the next year. A thorough business review and planning helps you not just react to events, but direct them.

1. Inventory: What happened in 2025?

Look back at the data, not just your memories!

  • Finances: What was your highest revenue service/product? Which month was the strongest? What were your biggest expenses?
  • Marketing: Which channel (Google, Facebook, newsletter) brought the most customers? Which blog post was the most popular? What was your most successful ad?
  • Successes and Failures: What were your three biggest successes? What were your three biggest failures, and what did you learn from them? What are you most proud of?

2. Vision: Where do you want to be in a year?

Dare to dream big! What would your ideal business look like at the end of 2026? Write down everything that comes to mind, without limits. How many clients do you want? How much revenue? What new service would you introduce?

3. Goal Setting: The SMART Method

Let's turn dreams into concrete goals! The SMART method helps ensure your goals don't just hang in the air. The goal should be:

  • Specific: Instead of "More revenue", "30% revenue growth".
  • Measurable: Have concrete numbers you can track.
  • Achievable: Be realistic, but challenging.
  • Relevant: Fit into your long-term vision.
  • Time-bound: Have a deadline (e.g., "by June 30, 2026").

4. Action Plan: Break down the goals!

A big goal can be scary. Break it down into quarterly, monthly, even weekly tasks! If your goal is 10 new clients in the first quarter, that means you need to get about 3 clients a month. What do you need to do weekly for this? (e.g., 1 blog post, 3 social media posts, launching 1 ad campaign).

A plan is worth nothing on its own. The key is consistent execution. Put your plan in a visible place and check weekly where you stand!
